The CB Scheme is an international certification system set up by the IECEE (IEC System for Conformity Testing and Certification of Electrical and Electronic Equipment). It enables you to validate your product's compliance with the requirements of international standards for electrical and electronic products in over 50 countries. The IECEE CB process involves testing selected samples and issuing a CB test certificate, without continuous factory surveillance. In a single test campaign at Sopemea laboratories, you receive a CB report and certificate.

Certification marks are proof that your product complies with European standards.

Get your products certified to access the European market and the UK thanks to Cby Apave Certification

CByApave Machine / Electrical is:

  • A reference adapted to your sector of activity, for an advantageous positioning on the market
  • A trusted European safety mark
  • A guarantee of quality and performance, widely used to support the declaration of conformity and technical file activity required for CE marking for the EU or UKCA for the UK

Certification marks can offer companies a competitive advantage by differentiating their products and services from those of their competitors. Customers are more likely to choose a product or service with a certification mark than one without.

Our experts answer your questions

  • Does my product need to be certified for international use?

Many countries require that all exports from France/Europe undergo pre-shipment inspection or conformity assessment. The products inspected vary depending on the requirements of the destination country. For example, CB certification facilitates economic trade in various regions of the world
  • What is the difference between CE marking and CbyApave?

CE marking is a declaration of conformity by the manufacturer, which means it's a self-declaration of conformity and doesn't always need to be checked during manufacturing.
CbyApave certification is given by an independent organisation. It's a guarantee of quality and extra performance for products that need to be checked at the factory, and a certification mark is put on the product.
  • How long is the CbyApave certificate valid for?

CbyApave certification for electrical products has no expiry date and can be maintained throughout the lifetime of the certified products, provided that they meet the requirements of the brand's standards and undergo annual surveillance audits.
  • What is the CB Scheme?

The CB Scheme is an international certification system for electrical and electronic products managed by the IECEE. It enables mutual recognition of test reports between more than 50 member countries. The aim of the CB Scheme is to simplify and accelerate access to international markets by avoiding the need to repeat tests in each country.
  • What is the CB certification procedure?

First, the manufacturer submits the application to a certification body such as Apave Certification. Next, compliance tests are carried out by an accredited laboratory such as Sopemea, and based on the test report produced by the latter, the certification body issues the CB Test Certificate. This certificate makes it easy to obtain national certification marks in other IECEE member countries.
