Acoustic power tests on Alcatel Submarine Networks power supply
A personalised test campain
Sopemea Velizy carried out acoustic measurements of the high-power power supply for ALCATEL SUBMARINE NETWORKS, the world leader in the manufacture and installation of submarine cables, in one of its anechoic chambers (420 m³).
An acoustic determination whose objective is to measure the power and sound energy level of a power supply on a power supply bay, which converts AC voltage to DC voltage to supply the submarine cables.
It is the transition between the terrestrial and the submarine part of the telecom infrastructure offered by ALCATEL SUBMARINE NETWORKS.

A succesful
test
Sopemea Velizy carried out acoustic measurements of the high-power electrical supply to ALCATEL SUBMARINE NETWORKS in one of its anechoic chambers (420 m3).
The test programme is defined by the ISO 3746 standard:
- Determination of sound power levels and sound energy levels of noise sources using sound pressure
- A method of measurement using a surrounding measurement surface on a reflecting plane
- The sound power level is calculated using 9 microphones placed around the cabinet at specific distance
The test was successfully completed.
